The old fire station at Upper Bukit Timah now housed Spruce, one of the two outlets in Singapore selling modern casual American cuisine. The other one is at Phoenix Park in Tanglin. My friend and I visited the old fire station during the first quarter this year.
The place is so packed!! We were temporarily placed at the seats of the bar corner. Moral of story: Better to make reservations! They were serving all-day breakfast when we went there on a saturday afternoon.
One reserved and empty seat:
The all-day breakfast that we ordered:
We ordered both ordered the Spruce big brekkie, mine had scrambled eggs while my friend had sunny-side eggs. Noticed something different? Mine had missing bacon!! We informed the waitress but she did nothing about it. Bad service! The taste of our food was so-so---which was further disappointment. The double chocolate crunch cake that we shared for dessert was not bad-- very chocolatey and moist. The portion was too big though, we did not manage to finish it.
