Paul Bakery

My friend and I happened to be in town and we decided to patronise French boulangerie, Paul that opened in Singapore just about a year ago. Our expectations for Paul are high since it's a very old and renowned French bakery that has more than 400 stores worldwide.

We ordered a lemon meringue tart and their trademark oversized pistachio macaron:

Lemon Meringue Tart
Pistachio Macaron

I got to say that we were very disappointed with what we've ordered. The lemon custard in the tart was too overly sour and it smells like my mum's lemon detergent. Pistachio macaron tasted so-so. The only thing that I liked was the hot chocolate beverage that I ordered together with our desserts. Is this really the quality of food served at the French outlet? I really wonder...
