Tonkotsu King has one of the longest queues in Singapore. The HGW ratings were extremely favourable as well. Naturally, expectations are very high. My partner and I were really lucky. We reached Tras Street at 11.15am on a sunday. There were two people in the queue, waiting for the shop to open (opening hours is from 11.30am) so we managed to get seats. I ordered the black spicy tonkotsu ramen, while my partner tried the red one.


I am sad to say that we do not agree with majority of the voters on HGW. My partner and I were extremely disappointed with our ramens!! IMO, this place is seriously overrated. I had ramens at Ippudo, Marutama, Yoshimaru and Ramen Champion and find all of them tasting better than Tonkotsu King. I am uncertain whether I would want to patronize Tori and Gyoza King now. Prior to my visit to Tonkotsu King, we were planning to visit all 3 places. Now, I am not that sure :/
