Vanilla Bar & Cafe

Vanilla Bar & Cafe is  one of my favourite cafes in Singapore. Went there with a friend earlier this year. This place literally smells like vanilla, very pleasant and refreshing!! If you love Japanese and western cuisine, this place is definitely for you!!

I ordered the chef-recommended pulled-pork bbq sandwich while my friend she ordered a chicken cutlet with fries. In addition, we ordered a plate of mentaiko crab cakes to share. As for desserts, we decided to try their highly popular vanilla dirt cake and the molten chocolate lava cake.

The mentaiko crab cakes were soooooo delicious!!! My friend I contemplated a second portion, but decided not to for we were worried we could not finish our food. I love the pork sandwiches that I ordered. The texture of the meat was so soft and moist, the bbq sauce was not too overwhelming. The chicken cutlet was so-so and too much for my friend. She did not manage to finish it. The vanilla dirt cake was really cute. It was served in a flower pot and had a fake plastic flower attached to the oreo crumbs of the cake. The cake was frozen and tasted like vanilla-cheese ice-cream with lots of oreos.  The molten chocolate lava cake was decent. The semi-sweet chocolate complemented with the sweetness of the ice cream. The food prices at vanilla are pretty affordable. My pork sandwich was $10.90. The other dishes were about between $12 to $19 depending on what you order. I can't wait to revisit the place again.
